BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – A Bakersfield man was arrested for the robbery of Murray Family Farms on Friday, June 7, 2019.
At around 11:20 a.m. Kern County Deputies were dispatched to the 6700 block of General Beale Road for the report of an attempted robbery. When deputies arrived they learned that the suspect had tried to rob the business and assault an employee with a large stick.
Deputies searched the area and found the suspect, later identified as, Juan Moreno, 25, armed with pruning shears. Moreno did not comply with deputies orders, leading them to using less-lethal force to bring the suspect into custody.
Moreno was treated at the hospital as a precaution, and will subsequently be booked into the Central Receiving Facility for robbery, resisting arrest, and assault with a deadly weapon. The Murray Family Farms employee declined medical attention.
