GOOD HOPE, Calif. – A Good Hope man was arrested for the attempted robbery of Harb’s Market located in the 22700 block of San Jacinto Avenue.
The attempted robbery occurred at around 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 6, 2019. A witness called 911 to report the incident and Lake Elsinore Station deputies were dispatched to the area. Authorities said that a male subject entered the store with an assault weapon. He demanded cash, threatening to kill the clerk. The clerk did not comply fast enough and the suspect, later identified as 41-year-old Jesus Rodriguez-Sandoval, fled the location on a bicycle.
Backup was called and a perimeter was established around the crime scene. “During the ongoing investigation, it was learned Rodriguez-Sandoval frequents a residence in the 40 block of Barbara Drive in Good Hope,’ Lake Elsinore Sheriff officials said. “Deputies responded to Barbara Drive and located Rodriguez-Sandoval exiting a residential yard.” Rodriguez-Sandoval was taken into custody and the weapon used in the robbery attempt was located.
Jesus Rodriguez-Sandoval was booked at Cois Byrd Detention Center on the felony charges of attempted robbery with a firearm and criminal threats. Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact Deputy Christopher Frey or Deputy Jarrod Meissen at (951) 245-3300.
