BAKERSFIELD, Ca. – Authorities are investigating the suspicious death of a 35-year-old Bakersfield man found badly injured at a marijuana dispensary.
On Sunday, December 15, 2019, at around 10:45 a.m., a deputy was flagged down at the Superior Meds Marijuana Dispensary at 2009 Niles Street for a male subject needing medical assistance. When they arrived they found the male, later identified as Marques Troyvell Stokes, suffering from traumatic injuries. They began CPR and called for emergency medical personnel. By the time they arrived, Stokes was pronounced deceased at the scene. Homicide detectives arrived to assume the investigation.
