RIVERSIDE – A distraught woman was is safe this morning after barricading herself in the bathroom of a Riverside home on Tuesday night.
Police were notified of the situation in the 4500 block of Tomlinson Avenue in the City of Riverside at around 11:50 p.m. The report indicated that the woman was violent, distraught, armed with a knife and locked inside the bathroom. Authorities arrived and set up a plan to safely resolve the situation. Emergency medical personnel waited nearby to provide treatment for anyone injured as a result of the incident.
An Emergency Negotiators (ENT) officer responded and began talking with the woman. Moments later, the woman disarmed herself and exited the bathroom. Officers took the woman into custody and subsequently transported to the hospital for evaluation and treatment.
