VICTORVILLE – A Van Nuys woman was arrested after leading deputies on a high-speed pursuit from Victorville to Rancho Cucamonga on Thursday, The woman later identified as Amber Rose Tyson, 22, was reported at around 1:56 a.m. after sounding the horn of a white BMW that she was driving. As she drove erratically in the 13100 block of Flint Lane, witnesses said that they could hear windows of nearby homes being broken.
When deputies from the Victorville Station arrived, they saw the BMW leaving at a high rate of speed. Deputies attempted to stop the speeding vehicle in the marked patrol unit, but the suspect continued on. She led deputies on a pursuit failing to stop at stop signs and red lights, all while continuing to speed. Tyson entered the 15 freeway southbound and led deputies on a 40-mile erratic pursuit ending in Rancho Cucamonga just south of Foothill Boulevard when a deputy used the Pursuit Intervention Technique. No injuries were sustained as a result of the incident.
Tyson was booked into jail for vandalism, evading a Peace Officer, and driving under the influence of alcohol. She is scheduled to appear in Victorville Superior Court on January 22, 2018, and is being held in lieu of $105,000.00 bail.
