BARSTOW – A 30-year-old Barstow man is behind bars for a shooting Christmas morning Barstow Police officials said. On the morning of December 25, 2016, just before 10:15 a.m. Damien Devon Williams and Diana Williams, both Barstow residents, were involved in a verbal altercation involving a rental vehicle. Damien Williams threatened Diana Williams that he would leave her and move back to the Los Angeles area.
As Damien Williams went into their home in the 1200 block of Windy Pass to gather his property, Diana Williams got into the rental vehicle and drove down the street. When Damien Williams went back outside he saw Diana Williams driving away in the rental vehicle. Enraged by her actions, Damien Williams fired a single shot at the victim. Diana Williams pulled the vehicle over and fled on foot. Damien Williams got into the vehicle and drove to an unknown location. An investigating officer was able to determine that the shooting suspect was Damien Williams.
Weeks later, on Tuesday, January 17, 2017, at around 9:55 a.m. the investigating officer was patrolling the same area on Windy Pass and he saw a man who matched the description of Damien Williams. The officer made contact with Damien Williams and was able to positively identify him. Damien Williams was arrested and booked into the High Desert Detention Center for assault with a firearm on a person. Damien Williams is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail.
