Barstow Man Arrested for Molesting Several Foster Children

Man Tossed From Vehicle & Struck by Big Rig After Driver Attempts to Pass on Shoulder

BARSTOW, Ca. – A Barstow man was arrested for multiple vehicle burglaries in the Barstow area in the month of October.

On October 7, 2019, at approximately 11:30 a.m., Barstow Police responded to the report of vehicle burglary to a vehicle at the Heritage Victor Valley Medical Center located at 801 East Mountain View Street. The officer learned that someone broke the window to the vehicle and stole several items of property. The burglary was captured by the video surveillance system of a neighboring business and provided it to officers. Officers identified the suspect vehicle as a black GMC Yukon 4-door with chrome trim and oxidized paint on the hood.

On October 11, 2019, at around 9:57 a.m., Barstow Police received a call from a victim regarding a burglary to a vehicle at Barstow Community Hospital. Through investigation it was learned that the window of the victim’s vehicle and stole luggage. The video surveillance at Barstow Community Hospital captured the suspect’s vehicle, including the license plate number. The vehicle matched the vehicle description in the October 7, 2019, vehicle burglary. The victim began checking the area for the suspect vehicle and located it in an apartment complex in the 600 block of Virginia Way.

Barstow Police received a call regarding an attempted vehicle burglary at the Barstow Bureau of Land Management Office located in the 2600 block of Barstow Road, on October 28, 2019, at around 4:08 p.m. The suspect was caught by the victim’s co-worker as he was going through the vehicle. He stole a pair of sunglasses and fled from the area in a black GMC SUV 4-door. The co-worker who witnessed the theft was able to describe the suspect to authorities. The suspect’s vehicle information was checked and learned that David Jones is associated with that vehicle. Detectives conducted a photo-line up with the witness to the BLM theft and the witness positively identified Jones as the suspect in that theft.

On October 29, 2019, served a search warrant at Jones’ home in the 615 East Virginia Way apartment #135. Jones was located inside his home, as the home was searched several items stolen from the Barstow Hospital burglary. It was also learned that Jones pawned items stolen at the Heritage Center located at 810 East Mountain View Street.

Jones was arrested and booked at the Barstow Jail for two counts of burglary.
