A former youth basketball coach was sentenced on Wednesday to 9 years in prison for sexually assaulting teen boys who he coached, officials said.
Jeremy Andre Haggerty, 34, worked as a basketball coach at several schools, including two in the Santa Clarita Valley. In addition to coaching, Haggerty was a personal basketball trainer, District Attorney officials said. Over nearly 10 years, Haggerty sexually assaulted nine teen boys.
Haggerty pleaded no contest to six counts of lewd act upon a child and three counts of sexual battery. He must also ordered to register as a sex offender for the remainder of his life.
