ADELANTO – A Burrtec Waste trash truck and a GMC truck were involved in a traffic collision on Monday afternoon. The collision occurred at an intersection on a dirt road with no traffic signals on Aster and Holly Roads. Deputies arrived at the scene shortly after the 3:05 p.m. report to find the trash truck and the GMC both facing eastbound on Holly Road just east of Aster Road.
Through investigation, deputies from the Victor Valley Station learned that the GMC was traveling south on Aster Road when the trash truck attempted to cross the intersection. The trash truck hit the passenger side of the GMC causing significant damage and minor injuries to the driver of the GMC.
The driver of the pickup truck, who had just left the shooting range, was transported by ground ambulance to Desert Valley Hospital. The responding deputy took temporary possession of at least one legally-owned firearm belonging to the driver of the GMC. No other injuries were reported as a result of the collision.
