APPLE VALLEY – Health and Wellness have become hot topics from the young to the elderly. More Americans are seeking longevity through a healthy diet and an exercise regime, but some don’t know where to start.
The Town of Apple Valley wants to help provide the keys to good health and wellness at a community meeting, titled “Access High Desert: Your Key to Health and Wellness,” which will take place on Tuesday, November 29th in the Town of Apple Valley Conference Center. “Healthy High Desert encourages health, education, and social service providers to attend this free forum for the betterment of our entire community,” said Quinonez.
The event will include a networking breakfast from 8:30 to 9:00 a.m., where those attending can network with vendors and other nonprofit organizations in attendance. “School nurses, nursing students, non-profits, caregivers, school administrators, family centers and church representatives who attend will receive valuable knowledge about local resources that they can share with their clients and students,” said Healthy Apple Valley Coordinator, Lena Quinonez.
From 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. there will be presentations, including information including how to access health and wellness in the community through transportation, free services, and new technology. Representatives from Victor Valley Transportation Authority, Victor Valley Community Services Council, local hospitals and medical clinics and other key organizations that can improve the level of health services in the region.
