After a traffic collision took the life of a 31-year-old mother and two children, the Victor Valley community has been in mourning. A third child, Elijah Estrada, 10, survived the tragic Thursday, March 2, 2017, collision that left the vehicle in the aqueduct on Main Street in Hesperia.
Jeremiah Robert Abbott, 3, was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased. Christina Eileen Estrada was located deceased inside the vehicle when it was pulled to the surface. Noah Abbott, 2, who was also in the vehicle at the time of the collision was not located, and ground patrol units continue to look for the 2-year-old child.
After divers were forced to call off their search in the aqueduct members of the community joined for a search and several have vowed to never stop looking until Noah is recovered. The community has set up and joined in prayer for the family left behind and for Noah’s recovery during two recent prayer vigils, one at the scene of the collision and the second at the Hesperia Civic Plaza Park. A community has come together, most at a loss of what to do, or how they can assist the family, including the siblings and children of those who lost their lives in the collision.
Two Go Fund Me accounts have provided to help those wanting to assist the family with the memorial and burial expenses have been successful, one nearly meeting the goal and the other exceeding the goal.Cadillac Ranch Saloon in the Town of Apple Valley has organized a Carwash fundraiser in order to assist the family with any needs that may arise. The Car Wash will be held on Sunday, March 12, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. They are requesting volunteers willing to help wash and dry vehicles. There will be raffles, and music inside and a live DJ outside. They will also have a bake sale, barbecued hot dogs, and burgers. They are also accepting cash donations during the event.
