SAN BERNARDINO – A 16-year-old San Bernardino resident was arrested for carjacking and kidnapping on Friday morning. Sheriff’s dispatch was made aware of the incident at around 10:30 a.m., approximately one hour after it occurred. When Central Station Deputies arrived at the location in the 4100 block of North E Street the registered car owner (victim #1) explained that her vehicle was stolen by forces with her cousin (victim #2) still inside.
The carjacking victim (victim #1) was able to give information about victim #2, who was calling family to let them know she was being held against her will. Through the information provided, deputies were able to identify a possible location of the suspect and victim. At around 11:30 a.m. Sheriff’s Aviation spotted the vehicle in a business parking lot on 40th street. Deputies on the ground located the vehicle, which was occupied by the victim and suspect. The victim was able to get out of the vehicle, while the suspect was detained without any further incident.
The suspect was arrested and booked into the San Bernardino Juvenile Hall. The victim was released to her family at the scene and the carjacking victim was brought to the scene to recover her car. No injuries were reported as a result of this incident.
