RIALTO – A 7-year-old girl was nearly kidnapped while playing at Flores Park in the City of Rialto on Tuesday afternoon. At around 3:50 p.m. the mother of the small child called 911 to report that her daughter was nearly kidnapped at the park located at 1060 West Etiwanda Drive.
The mother said that she was watching her child play and as she was playing the Hispanic man, later identified as 26-year-old George Molina-Flores approached her. He began talking to her and her mother began walking towards her daughter. As she got closer, Molina-Flores grabbed the girl’s arm and attempted to pull her away. The mother screamed for help in horror, now knowing that this man was attempting to abduct her young daughter. The scream startled Molina-Flores and he fled the park on foot.
Officers made contact with the mother, child, and surrounding witnesses, while other officers began to do an area search in the surrounding neighborhood. While searching the area, officers found Molina-Flores walking through a residential neighborhood. They drove toward Molina-Flores, and he attempted to hide in the entryway of a nearby home. Officers detained Molina-Flores, who is currently on Probation for robbery.
The mother of the child identified Molina-Flores as the person that attempted to kidnap her daughter. He was placed under arrest and booked into the West Valley Detention Center for attempted kidnapping. If anyone has any additional information regarding this incident they are encouraged to call the Rialto Police Department at 909-820-2515.
