RIVERSIDE – A vehicle was stolen while a 5-year-old boy slept soundly inside authorities said.
At around 1:15 a.m. on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, a father and his son had just returned from a trip when they stopped by a home in order to pick up other family members before returning home. The child was sleeping, so the father left him and the vehicle in the 3200 block of Vance Street in the City of Riverside while he went inside the house.
The father reported being inside the home for only minutes, but when the family went out to get into the vehicle, it was gone. As the family panicked and police gathered information, a call was made to dispatchers that a child was located in the 7100 block of Goodview Avenue. The vehicle was also located and the child was returned to his parents. Officers were unable to locate the suspect. The suspect was described only as a Black male wearing a white shirt and dark beanie cap.
No other information is available at this time. Anyone with information urged to contact the Riverside Police Department at (951) 826-5700.
