CHINO HILLS – A Chino Hills man was arrested for pouring scorching hot water on his girlfriend’s dog multiple times authorities said.
On Tuesday, November 7, 2017, at around 4:45 p.m. deputies from the Chino Hills Station were dispatched to the 16000 block of Butterfield Ranch Road for a call reporting animal cruelty. When deputies arrived the reporting party told them that a man was pouring hot water on a dog and that he had captured the incident on video. The suspect Enping Qu, 22, was contacted and the deputies conducted a welfare check on the dog.
A tea kettle with extremely hot water was found and the dog’s coat and skin was warm from the water. The Humane Society responded and found that the water inside the kettle was 129 degrees. The dog was taken to a veterinarian and remains in their care. Authorities are not releasing the video due to the ongoing investigation. Qu was arrested for Felony Animal Cruelty.
