VICTORVILLE – Are you hesitating to take your Christmas tree down because you don’t know what to do with it? Did you take it down and have it just sitting around while you try to figure out how to dispose of it?
The City of Victorville is offering curbside Christmas tree pickup until January 11, 2019. Any resident who has curbside, cart/barrel service are offered the pickup service. Residents can just remove all decorations from their tree, and place the tree at the curb by 6:00 a.m. on their normal trash pickup day. Any tree that is longer than six feet tall must be cut in half. This is not offered to business or bin customers.
Natural trees will be mulched, while flocked or artificial trees will be accepted but collected as trash. Trees should not be put in a plastic bag, in the trash can, or recycling can. Christmas trees will be collected by a separate truck that will come to your home on your trash day, possibly earlier or later than the trash or recycling trick.
Residents of single-family homes can call Victorville Disposal at (760) 245-8607 to schedule a FREE bulky item pickup. Or, if you want to drop off your tree, City of Victorville residents can drop off natural, un-flocked trees for FREE at American Organics at 20055 Shay Rd. in Victorville through Jan. 31. The hours of operation: Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information, call American Organics at (760) 246-7946. Please note that ALL Decorations must be removed.
