Victorville Man Arrested for Negligent Discharge of Firearm

VICTORVILLE – A Victorville man was arrested after attempting to scare off coyotes by shooting into the air on Wednesday night.

At around 10:58 p.m. dispatchers received a call reporting that shots were fired in the 13900 block of Zing Road. Victor Valley station deputies responded to the area and learned that Isaias Fuentes Ramirez, 39, of Victorville heard coyotes. Fearing that his dog would be attacked by the coyotes, Ramirez took his shotgun outside and fired a round into the air to scare the coyotes.

Ramirez was arrested for negligent discharge of a firearm and possession of a short-barreled shotgun. He was booked into the High Desert Detention Center and is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.
