HESPERIA – A Hesperia man is behind bars and being held in lieu of $350,000 bail for shooting at an inhabited dwelling officials said. At around 8:52 p.m. on Thursday night 35-year-old John Anthony Ramirez, a convicted felon, was arrested at his home in the 17000 block of Bascom Street in the City of Hesperia.
Ramirez was arrested as a result of an incident that took place on Wednesday, December 21, 2016, just before 4:00 p.m. Deputies from the Hesperia Station responded reference a report shots fired inside the home located
When deputies arrived a short time later they set up a perimeter attempting to locate Ramirez, while other deputies responded to the home. They were made aware that suspect, Ramirez left the home, but was armed with a handgun and rifle. The reporting party said that Ramirez fired a round with a handgun into a wall in the home prior to leaving.
No one in the home was injured as a result of the shooting. A Ramey Warrant was issued for Ramirez, who is restricted from possessing firearms. Ramirez was booked into the High Desert Detention Center for Shooting at an inhabited dwelling and convicted felon in possession of a firearm. He is scheduled to appear at the Victorville Superior Court on Tuesday afternoon.
