CORONA – A Corona man and teen were arrested after burglarizing a vehicle in the 1500 block of Border Avenue in the City of Corona on Sunday night. At around 10:10 p.m. a resident near the incident heard the sound a window break followed by an audible alarm. The resident looked outside and saw a male and female running toward Brentwood Park. The resident called 911 to report the incident.
Officers responded and were able to confirm that a vehicle burglary did occur and later contacted 20-year-old Diego Leal and a 17-year-old female friend in the area of Brentwood Park. The two matched the description the reporting party provided of the suspects. The witness positively identified Leal and the juvenile as the two seen running from the incident location.
Both Leal and the female juvenile were arrested for vehicle burglary. Leal was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center for burglary and violating probation. The minor was released to her parents with charges pending.
