Corona Man Arrested for Shooting in National Inn Area

CORONA – A 24-year-old Corona man was arrested for a shooting that took place in the area of National Inn on S. Lincoln Avenue.

On Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at around 11:08 p.m., the California Highway Patrol advised the Corona Police that there was a shooting that had occurred. Police responded to the area near Chino Hills and spoke to the victim who was treated for injuries in the hospital and released the same night. Through investigation, the suspect was identified as, John Melero Aguilar.

On Friday, August 10, 2018, detectives determined that Aguilar was in the City of Ontario. Aguilar was arrested and was charged attempted murder, felon in possession of a gun, felon in possession of ammunition, and parole violation.
