Arrest Made for Murder of Man Found Deceased in Apple Valley Desert

APPLE VALLEY – A 31-year-old Apple Valley man has been arrested for the murder of Keenan Handley, whose body was located in the desert near Stoddard Wells Road West of Grasshopper Road.

On Sunday, August 12, 2018, deputies from the Apple Valley Station responded to the report of a deceased person found in the desert area. When deputies and emergency medical personnel arrived, they confirmed that it was the body of a deceased male. Homicide investigators responded to the scene to assume the investigation. The deceased man was identified as 44-year-old Victorville resident Keenan Handley.  

Through investigation, investigators learned that Keenan Handley was last with Howard Armstrong. A search warrant was served on Armstrong’s home and he was interviewed. Following the search and interview, Armstrong was arrested and booked into the Central Detention Center for Murder.
