CORONA – A woman escaped an attack from an unknown male suspect as she walked in the area of Griffin Way and Richey Street in the City of Corona.
On Sunday, July 29. 2018, at around 11:00 p.m. the Corona woman was out for a walk, walking on the north side of Griffin Way. During her walk a black male adult approached her to ask for the time and began physically assaulting the woman. She screamed for help and fought back. She broke free from the grasp of the male assailant with only minor injuries. The woman was transported to the hospital where we received treatment.
The victim was not able to identify the suspect and no other similar incidents have been reported. The Police Department would like to remind the community: When walking late at night, please stay on well-lit paths or walk with others. We would also like to remind everyone to report suspicious individuals by calling (951) 736-2330, option 3, or if you feel it is an emergency, please dial 9-1-1.
