APPLE VALLEY – A DUI driver slammed into an Apple Valley home and into the bed which two of the residents were sleeping.
On Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at around 2:35 a.m., Bailey Joshua Forshey, 21, of Hesperia, was allegedly driving a 2008 Volkswagen in the 15000 block of Mandan Road in the Town of Apple Valley. The vehicle left the roadway and crashed into the master bedroom of the home. The bed where two of the residents slept was also struck as a result of the crash. The Apple Valley Fire Department and deputies from the Apple Valley station responded to the scene within minutes of the initial report to find the vehicle lodged in the home and Forshey standing nearby.
The two residents and the driver of the vehicle were all examined at the scene and reported that they were uninjured. One of the residents did complain of pain and was transported to the hospital as a precaution. Evidence at the scene led the investigating deputies to believe that alcohol may have been a factor in the collision. Forshey was arrested for Driving Under the Influence and was booked into the High Desert Detention Center after being medically cleared by St Mary’s Hospital staff.
Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact Deputies Greg Teplansky and Trevor James or Sergeant James R. Evans at the Apple Valley Sheriff’s Station (760) 240-7400.
