MORENO VALLEY – A 15-year-old girl was arrested for a fire that killed a 45-year-old Moreno Valley woman. On Tuesday, April 3, 2018, CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire and the Moreno Valley Police responded to a fire at a home in the 14000 block of Cloverfield Road in the City of Moreno Valley. When they arrived, they located resident Amy Morrison, 45, unresponsive and rushed her to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The cause of the fire was investigated, and as a result of suspicious circumstances, detectives from the Moreno Valley Police Department, arson investigators from CAL FIRE, and the Central Homicide Unit assumed the investigation the following day. The investigation led to the arrest of the 15-year-old girl, who also lives in the home. The female juvenile, whose name is being withheld due to her age, was booked into Juvenile Hall for murder and arson.
The investigation is currently on-going and no further information will be released at this time.
