Deputies Step In to Assist Elderly Woman in Need

LANCASTER – Lancaster Sheriff’s deputies stepped up to help an elderly resident in need. It all began a few days ago when the station received a call requesting a welfare check on the elderly woman. When Deputies Regalado and Doerfler arrived they found that the elderly woman was living alone with little food. The woman also was not able to get around her home very well.

“Deputies Regalado and Doerfler made the appropriate phone calls to ensure help and the necessary services would be sent over to aid this resident with her long term needs, but unfortunately that was not going to happen for a few days.” said Lancaster Sheriff’s Station Spokeswoman Ali Villalobos. The two deputies, concerned about the woman helped her to tidy up her home, took out her trash, and stopped by a Target store to buy some groceries to help her get through the next few days. “Some days our deputies chase bad guys, some days they make sure a resident in need has a clean home and food in their stomach,” Spokeswoman Villalobos added.
