RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. – Rancho Cucamonga detectives are asking for the public’s help to locate a suspect involved in a Shell Gas Station robbery.
On Wednesday, April 10, 2019, at around 2:30 a.m. deputies from the Rancho Cucamonga station responded to the gas station located at 12300 Block of Highland Avenue. When they arrived they learned that two male suspects entered the business with handguns and demanded money. The clerk complied and gave them money from the cash register. The suspects took the money and several cartons of cigarettes. The two suspects left in a gray Honda Civic.
The incident was caught on camera and a description of both suspects was obtained. The license plate on the vehicle determined that the vehicle had been stolen. Kevin Gilmer 24, of San Bernardino, was contacted while in the same vehicle. Gilmer’s home was searched, leading to evidence that linked him to the gas station robbery. Gilmer was arrested for vehicle theft and robbery. He was booked into the Central Detention Center.
The second suspect is still outstanding and described as a white male adult, 6’ tall, and 180 lbs. He is seen wearing a flannel shirt and gray pants.
