APPLE VALLEY, Calif. – Detectives from the Apple Valley Sheriff Station are investigating a shooting this morning.
At around 4:10 a.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2019, deputies and emergency medical personnel responded to the 20300 block of Thunderbird Road for the report of shots fired. Another report was made at around the same time, reporting domestic violence between a man and woman in the same area.
When they arrived they located 48-year-old Dedre Burgess, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was awake, but unable to provide any information about the shooting or the suspect. Paramedics at the scene treated him and he was transported by ground to a trauma center.
No other injuries have been reported. Detectives believe that the shooting and the domestic violence incident are related. Apple Valley Station detectives are actively investigating the incident and more information will be given at a later time.
