HACIENDA HEIGHTS, Calif. – Homicide detectives need the public’s help to identify a girl who was found deceased near a Hacienda Heights hiking trail on Tuesday.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department released the sketches of the girl whose body was found, as well as the clothing she was found in. The shirt is pink and says, “Future Princess Hero”. Her pants were blue leggings with Pandas printed on them. The girl had no shoes on when she was located.
The girl is believed to be black, 8 to 13-years-old, 4’5” tall, and 55 pounds. The body was stuffed into a black duffel bag, with her head protruding from the bag. Detectives believe that the bag was dumped in the area on the evening of Sunday, March 3, 2019, and that the child had been deceased for around 48 hours.
Detectives said that there were no obvious signs of trauma. Detectives do not know if the child was deceased when she was placed inside the bag. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause and manner of death. For now, detectives are only calling this a suspicious death. Detectives said that they have no leads, no motive, and are still in need of assistance to identify the child.
Anyone who believes that they recognize the girl or who believes that they have any information pertinent to the case should call the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department at 213-229-1700. Anyone wishing to remain anonymous should contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
