COACHELLA, Calif. – A 25-year-old Coachella man was arrested by the Coachella Valley Violent Crime Gang Task Force on Tuesday afternoon.
Christian Ortiz was allegedly involved in a kidnapping and assault that occurred on March 3, 2019, in the City of Coachella. Details about the incident are scarce, and authorities will only say that Ortiz was located in the area of Highway 111 and Cook Street in Palm Desert. When located, Ortiz was arrested without incident and transported to the Indio jail where he was booked for kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon, and child endangerment. Ortiz posted $55,000 and was released from jail on Tuesday. He is scheduled to appear in court on April 30, 2019.
