RIVERSIDE, Calif. – A 65-year-old Yucaipa man lost his life in a traffic collision that occurred on Wednesday, March 6, 2019.
The multi-vehicle collision in the City of Riverside was reported at around 10:55 a.m. The reporting parties told dispatchers multiple people were injured in the crash on Alessandro Boulevard at Via Vista Drive. Police and city Fire personnel responded to the scene.
Preliminary investigation indicated that the white Nissan Titan was being driven by a 33-year-old Riverside resident driving southbound on Alessandro Boulevard, just north of Via Vista Drive when the driver lost control. The Titan cross onto the northbound lanes of Alessandro Boulevard, just south of Via Vista Drive, striking a blue Ford Ranger being driven northbound by a 65-year-old Yucaipa man. A 35-year-old Riverside resident was driving a grey Infiniti SUV northbound and a 65-year-old San Marcos resident was driving a U-Haul box truck towing a flatbed trailer northbound.
The driver of the blue Ford Ranger was rushed to a local hospital where he died as a result of his injuries. The driver of the Infiniti suffered minor injuries and is being treated at a local hospital. The driver of the Nissan is being treated for moderate injuries and is also at a local hospital. The Riverside Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T.) responded to the scene causing a closure of the roadway until approximately 6:00 p.m.
