ADELANTO – DNA evidence collected during a rape investigation led to the arrest of a 60-year-old Adelanto man last week authorities said.
The rape was reported by the 22-year-old female victim on May 22, 2017, at around 11:30 p.m. The victim told authorities that she and her friend were at the home of Earl Wayne Wyatt in the 11700 block of Chamberlaine Way in the City of Adelanto. When they entered his motorhome the victim was sexually assaulted. The woman was able to run from the home and Wyatt followed her to the intersection of Chamberlaine Way and Jonathan Street where the woman yelled for help. The Sheriff’s patrol unit approached and Wyatt fled from the location.
Months later, on October 17, 2017, the DNA collected during the investigation was learned to belong to Wyatt. The following day he was interviewed at his home and was subsequently arrested for rape. Wyatt was found to be on Post Release Community Supervision/ Probation, is being held without bail.
