BARSTOW – A fire broke out after power lines were downed in a Barstow neighborhood. The fire was extinguished, but the street remains closed on Virginia Way from Helen Runyon Parkway to Muriel Drive. Due to the multiple power lines down , some residents have been evacuated by police and fire officials.
Southern California Edison and the City of Barstow Street Department are aware of street closures, evacuations, downed power lines, and traffic signals that are now inoperable. The public is asked to avoid these areas and stay home if possible. Beware of downed power lines and for crews making repairs to the street lights and power lines.
