RANCHO CUCAMONGA – Eleven people were arrested as a result of a multiagency probation and parole warrant sweep in the City of Rancho Cucamonga on Saturday.
The Rancho Cucamonga Police Department, the San Bernardino County Probation Department and the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation all took part in the sweep. Several laws, including Propositions 47 and 57, releasing non-violent offenders or those with low-level crimes into the community under Post Release Community Supervision.
Those who fail to comply with the terms and conditions of their probation or parole release can be issued a warrant for their arrest. Eight teams, two in each team were involved in the warrant sweep. “Each team conducted ten parole compliance checks, served 60 due diligence warrants and attempted to locate ten wanted probationers,” Sheriff’s officials said. “A total of eleven subjects were arrested during this sweep.” Of the eleven arrested, nine were for misdemeanor warrants and two were for new open felony charges.
The Rancho Cucamonga Police will continue to conduct regular and unannounced probationary visits to make sure all are compliant with the terms and conditions of their probation.
