VICTORVILLE – An escaped arrestee was taken into custody in Las Vegas, Nevada on Tuesday authorities said.
Charles Brown, a 31-year-old Adelanto resident was taken into custody by Victorville deputies on Sunday afternoon for transportation of narcotics. He was sitting in the back of a marked patrol car at the Victorville Police Department waiting to be questioned when he somehow slipped his hand out of the handcuffs to exit the vehicle at around 5:27 p.m. He fled on foot and authorities were unable to locate him during an area search using Sheriff’s Aviation and a K-9 unit.
A joint operation by the Victorville Police Department’s Gang Team, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Specialized Enforcement Team, and the U.S. Marshall’s office was conducted and Brown was located and taken into custody without incident.
