A man residing in Mexico was extradited back to San Bernardino County following an over 3-year-long investigation.
Milton Ventura, 24, was released from custody after admitting to oral copulation and sodomy of a child under 16-years-old. Once released he was placed on Formal Felony Probation and required to register as a sex offender. Ventura registered using a San Bernardino address and was being supervised by probation officers. Approximately, five months later Ventura moved from his registered address and stopped reporting to probation.
The original arrest was made on October 4, 2011, by Colton Police and in May 2012, Ventura was released from custody as a result of his plea bargain. After not registering his new address and failure to report to probation, a no bail probation violation warrant for his arrest was issued. The investigation into Ventura’s whereabouts began in January 2013, but no information was located. Assistance from the US Marshall’s office was requested to assist in locating Ventura.
Although Ventura is a U.S. Citizen, three years into the investigation it was determined that he was living in an unknown location in Mexico. The US Marshall’s agents collaborated with the Federal Authorities in Mexico who also began searching for Ventura.
Mexican authorities located Ventura on Wednesday, March 22, 2017, and arrested him for his active warrant. The following day Ventura was extradited back to San Bernardino County and booked into the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga. Ventura is being held without bail.
