BEDFORD CO. VA. – A Bedford County, Virginia man was arrested after a family argument over Ford versus Chevy led to a stabbing and shooting.
During a family gathering at the home on Easter Sunday. The family had been drinking, when they began discussing trucks and if Ford or Chevy were better. Mark Turner, 56, his girlfriend, her son, a mechanic, and his girlfriend were at the home for Easter dinner. Turner and his girlfriend’s son, Logan Bailey, began arguing about trucks.
Turner produced a knife and threatened Bailey. His girlfriend got between the two and was stabbed in her back. She sustained an approximately 6” wound. Turner then left the home, and returned with a gun to again threaten Bailey. The girlfriend again got between the two and was shot five times in her legs. Bailey also was shot once in his arm and his girlfriend sustained minor injuries to her cheek and back as a result of being hit by two ricocheting bullets.
When police arrived they found the victims and Turner still inside the home. Turner barricaded himself inside the home for around two hours. Turner was arrested for felony malicious wounding, use of a firearm, and felon in possession of a firearm and is being held without bail, according to court records.
The victim’s injuries are all non-life-threatening.
