APPLE VALLEY– The lives of two men were taken due to a fatal traffic collision. One of the men died at the scene and the other was pronounced dead at the hospital. Both men were the drivers of the vehicles.
On Thursday, December 1, 2016, at approximately 6:30 a.m., Sheriff deputies from the Apple Valley Station were called out to a major injury accident. Upon arrival, deputies ascertained that the adult male driver of a Toyota Tacoma was traveling westbound on Bear Valley Road swerved into the eastbound lane of Bear Valley Road.
This action caused a head-on collision with a Volvo that was occupied by a single adult male driver.
The driver of the Volvo was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Toyota Tacoma was transported to Desert Valley Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The identities of the deceased have yet to be identified, due to the families being notified.
Sheriff deputies closed off access to Bear Valley Road from Apple Valley Road to Deep Creek Rd. They investigated the collision with a special division of the Sheriff’s department , Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT). If you have any information regarding this incident contact (760)240-7400
