Female Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck by at Least One Vehicle

VICTORVILLE – A female pedestrian was struck and killed after being hit by at least one vehicle on Friday night. At 10:49 p.m. deputies from the Victorville Station and emergency medical personnel responded to the area of Hesperia Road and Comanche Street.

When they arrived they found several vehicles stopped and the pedestrian’s lifeless body in the roadway. The female pedestrian, according to authorities had no pulse when transported to Desert Valley Hospital in the City of Victorville. Despite life-saving efforts, the woman was pronounced dead prior to arriving at the hospital at 11:23 p.m.

Authorities said that the pickup truck driven by a 42-year-old Victorville man was driving southbound on Hesperia Road when the female crossed in the path of the truck.

An involved driver remained at the scene, a second involved driver according to witness statements left the scene.Hesperia Rd was closed to traffic in both directions in the area of the collision until shortly after 4:00 a.m. This is an ongoing investigation by the Victorville Police Department’s, Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT). UPDATE: June 21, 2017
Upon further investigation, deputies have learned that there may be additional witnesses to this collision that have not been interviewed and the pedestrian may have been struck by another vehicle(s).
