VICTORVILLE – San Bernardino County firefighters responded to the report of a triplex apartment fire on the 15600 block of Sixth Street Monday morning. Upon arrival, just after 11:00 a.m. they found a working fire with exposures to connecting units.

A second alarm was requested sending additional units to the scene of the fire. A total of 8 Medic Engines, 1 Truck Company, 2 Chief Officers and a Fire Investigator and one Medic Engine from Apple Valley Fire Department responded to the fire.
Witnesses on scene reported the sound of an explosion prior to the structure catching fire. Just before 11:50 a.m. the fire was knocked down with limited spread to adjoining units.
Jimmy Waldron, Executive Director of High Desert Homeless Services Inc. told 24/7 Headline News that one structure was a complete loss and about half of the structure next to the “High Desert Homeless Thrift and Gift” store was damaged.
There were no injuries reported as a result of the fire. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Additional information will be updated when it becomes available.
