FONTANA – The purchase of a $10 Golden Ticket Scratcher made on Inland Empire man a whole lot richer last week. Maurice Qatami won the top prize, which is $1 million before taxes.
Qatami purchased the ticket at the Cardenas Market located at 16721 Valley Boulevard in the City of Fontana. While at the store, Qatami realized he just turned $10 into $1 million with the simple purchase of a ticket. “I was happy, but I didn’t show it,” Qatami said.
Qatami told California Lottery officials that he will be using the funds to cover some financial obligations that he has. “It means a lot,” Qatami said. “It’s a big relief.” Cardenas Market is also a winner since they sold the winning ticket, the store will receive a $5,000 bonus just for selling the ticket.
