FONTANA – A Fontana man was arrested for a shooting killing a man who was considered to be a “close friend” after an argument about who got to sit in the front seat of a vehicle.
On Sunday, June 10, 2018, at around 9:54 p.m. Fontana Police responded to the 15100 block of Coleen, located in South Fontana. When they arrived they located Jalen Wilson, 19, suffering from a gunshot wound to his chest. Wilson was rushed to a local hospital, where he died as a result of his injuries. Through investigation, it was learned that Sergio Orozco, 19, shot the victim after they were leaving a party. A third friend got into the driver’s seat of his vehicle, while Orozco and Wilson argued over who would sit in the front passenger seat. Orozco pulled out a handgun and shot Wilson in his chest. Authorities describe Orozco and Wilson as sharing a close friendship prior to the shooting.
Orozco was located in San Clemente, California on Monday, June 11, 2018, and was arrested for the murder of Wilson.
