FONTANA, Ca. – A suspect remains at large after stealing a police vehicle on Friday, authorities said.
The vehicle-theft suspect was located in the 11900 block of Pepper Avenue in the City Bloomington. Officers made contact with him, placed him in handcuffs and put him in the back of the patrol vehicle. During the investigation when he kicked through the safety bar of the back cage, according to the news release. The suspect then forced himself into the front seat of the vehicle. He was able to slip through his handcuffs and drive away in the police vehicle.
After searching the area, the police vehicle was located but the suspect was not.
