VICTORVILLE, Calif. – Four Silverado High School students were arrested for a strong-arm robbery that occurred on the school campus last week.
On Thursday, March 21, 2019, at around 10:00 a.m., the four suspects; three 14-year-old males and one 15-year-old male, approached the 15-year-old male while on the school campus located at 14048 Cobalt Road. The suspects demanded the victim’s backpack and phone. The victim complied, and at least two of the suspects still punched and chased the victim.
A witness captured the incident on cell phone video and shared the incident on social media. On Monday, March 25, 2019, school administrators and the Victorville Police Department, Victor Valley Union High School District and the Victorville Police Department immediately began investigating the incident. The victim and suspect were all identified as students at Silverado High School.
On Tuesday, March 26, 2019, one of the 14-year-old suspects and the 15-year-old suspect were located and arrested. They were booked at the High Desert Juvenile Detention Center for Robbery. On Wednesday, March 27, 2019, the other two 14-year-old suspects were also arrested for robbery. The case will be forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office for review and consideration of further charges.
