VICTORVILLE, CA. – The employees at a Victorville Goodwill location acted quickly to protect employees and customers after finding what appeared to be grenades inside a donation bag.
Victorville Sheriff’s officials said that on September 2, 2020, at around 11:53 a.m., employees sorting donations when they found three hand grenade type items. The store was evacuated and deputies were called to the store in the 16900 block of Bear Valley Road.
Shortly after the Arson and Bomb Detail arrived and determined that the items were simulation grenades and simulation smoke. The items were taken for proper disposal. “Employees at the Goodwill location did a great job during the incident, making sure customers and employees alike were evacuated quickly and in a safe manner, to avoid possible injury,” Sheriff’s Officials said.
