HESPERIA – A 34-year-old Hesperia man was arrested for cruelty to a child after getting into a traffic collision while off-roading in Hesperia on Thursday.
At around 4:00 p.m. Joshua Widmayer was off-roading in a 1999 Ford Explorer with his minor son near the Hesperia Airport. Deputies from the Hesperia Station responded to the traffic collision to investigate. While at the scene, there was evidence that Widmayer was under the influence. No one was injured as a result of the collision.
Widmayer was arrested for Cruelty to a Child and was booked at the High Desert Detention Center. He is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail and is scheduled to appear at the Victorville Superior Court on Monday afternoon.
