HESPERIA, Calif. – Homicide Detectives are investigating the murder of a 22-year-old Hesperia man and attempting to identify the suspect.
On Tuesday, August 6, 2019, at around 2:00 a.m. deputies from the Hesperia Station were called to the 15000 block of Sycamore Street for the report of shots heard. Reports of a man struck by the gunfire came in just after the initial report. Deputies responded and emergency medical personnel staged out of the area for their safety for around 10 minutes following the report.
The first responding deputy indicated that the victim, later identified as Alejandro Espinoza, was suffering from at least five gunshot wounds and was unresponsive. Lifesaving efforts were administered by deputies. When emergency medical personnel arrived they determined that Espinoza was dead as a result of his injuries.
Homicide Detectives responded to conduct the investigation. Detectives learned that Espinoza was outside of the home with another male subject when a dark-colored sedan drove up and the occupant(s) began yelling at them. The driver got out of the vehicle and fired several shots, striking Espinoza before speeding away.
Detectives are attempting to identify the suspect and urge anyone with information to contact Detective Narcie Sousa, Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail at (909)387-3589. Callers can remain anonymous and contact WeTip at 800-78CRIME or www.wetip.com.
