HESPERIA, Ca. – A Hesperia man was arrested for abusing his 80-year-old family member last week.
On Wednesday, August 14, 2019, at around 1:53 a.m. deputies from the Hesperia Station responded to the 18600 block of Cherry Street for the report of an assault. When they arrived they made contact with Cordarrel Green, 30, who allegedly punched a hole in the wall of the home. The sound of him punching the wall led to the elderly victim to wake up.
Green started yelling at the victim leading the victim to tell Green to leave the home. Green struck the victim twice in the head, causing him to fall and nearly lose consciousness, Hesperia Station Spokesman Edgar Moran said. The victim sustained a black eye and a large knot behind his ear.
Green was booked into the High Desert Detention Center for Elder Abuse and Vandalism. He is scheduled to appear at the Victorville Superior Court on Tuesday morning.
