HESPERIA – A 27-year-old Hesperia man was arrested for attempted robbery after attempting to steal merchandise from a Victorville Home Depot Store.
On Sunday, July 2, 2017, at around 7:45 p.m. Victorville Station deputies responded to 15150 Bear Valley Road reference the report of a male suspect who concealed merchandise in his backpack and attempted to leave the store without paying. “They [Loss Prevention] asked the subject to come with them to the store office,” said Victorville Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Mara Rodriguez. “The suspect began to run and during an attempt to stop him, one of the employees sustained scratches to his arm.”
The suspect dropped his backpack and ran from the store. James Heaberlin, 27, of Hesperia was located nearby and was booked into the High Desert Detention Center for Attempted Robbery.
