YUCAIPA – A Hesperia man who owns a Yucaipa 7-Eleven store was arrested on Wednesday and released on bail on Thursday after he was arrested for staging an August 12th robbery at his store authorities said.
Frank Edward Seville, 38, of Hesperia was detained at his store on Wednesday following a search of both his Hesperia home on 3rd Avenue and the Yucaipa Store, located at 32487 Yucaipa Boulevard. Seville was interviewed by deputies and was subsequently arrested. Seville made two reports this year, which both are now being questioned due to discrepancies between the stories that he told and what the collected evidence has revealed.
On August 12, 2017, Seville reported that as he walked with the deposit in his hand from the register to his office an unknown woman shoved him and took the money. The woman reportedly stole the entire large deposit, which was in an envelope, and fled from the location on foot. A wig and baggy clothes were found near the business, but no woman was ever found. Authorities determined that the suspect who committed the robbery was a male. The money was refunded to Seville by the 7-Eleven corporation, but it was later found that Seville conspired with a former employee to stage the robbery.
The discovery led to authorities looking back into a report made in April 2017, where Seville reported that an employee stole some California Lottery Tickets. The tickets were tickets that were worth over $3000 in winnings. It is now believed that Seville was also involved in the planning of that theft and may have even cashed in the winning tickets at different locations.
Seville was booked into the Central Detention Center for petty theft, conspiracy to commit a crime, and for making a false police report. He was released on bail on Thursday, October 5, 2017.
