VICTORVILLE, Ca. – A 40-year-old San Bernardino man was arrested for the murder of one man and the injury of a second man.
On Sunday, February 21, 2021, at 1:43 a.m. deputies from the Victorville Station responded to Bombshells Bar and Grill, located at 15863 Lorene Drive in the City of Victorville. While heading over to the scene of the assault, deputies were advised that the victims had been stabbed during the altercation. When deputies got to the scene they found Brian Lopez, 31, of Hesperia, suffering from stab wounds. Medical aid was provided by deputies as they waited for fire personnel to get to the scene. Lopez was rushed to the hospital but despite life-saving efforts, he succumbed to his injuries.
The second victim, a 46-year-old Victorville man was found suffering from a stab wound and multiple injuries. He is expected to recover. A homicide investigation was conducted. Through investigation it was learned that there was an argument between two people which led to a physical altercation. Several other people became involved and it is believed that Lopez was attempting to stop the fight when he was stabbed by Magana. Magana attempted to leave the scene, but the driver collided with two vehicles in the parking lot. Authorities said that a Bombshells employee detained Magana until deputies arrived. Magana was booked into the High Desert Detention Center for Murder.
His family said that he was a father of a six month old baby boy and was working at Bombshells Bar to help provide for him. “ Brian was loving, caring, endearing and ALWAYS cared about others above himself,” said Christina Laliberte, on the Go Fund Me. She is asking for the community to help with his funeral expenses and said that anything over that would be set aside for his son, Sage.
